Zubbi
Brushing teeth with monsters – a playful brushing companion for families.
Zubbi stores all data – user profiles, brushing statistics, badges, and the monster gallery – exclusively on the device. There is no Zubbi server and no user account. Only if you enable country badges is a location sent to Apple’s geocoding service to identify the country, as explained below.
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all stored data.
Country badges are off by default. Adults can enable them after an explanation in the protected parent area and turn them off again at any time. iOS location permission is also required. Approximate location is enough.
During a brushing session, Zubbi requests a single location. Apple’s geocoding service identifies its country; this sends the location to Apple. Zubbi never stores coordinates or movement history, only the country badge earned by each local profile. There is no background location tracking. Consent applies to all profiles on this device; importing a backup does not import location consent.
Initially, one badge is available for each of Germany, China and Spain, awarded once per country and profile after a full brushing session. Your home country counts too. Badges already earned are kept when the feature is turned off. If you decline or turn off consent, you simply won’t earn new country badges. All other features and badges remain available. Brushing also works as usual if the country cannot be detected.
Zubbi uses the device camera to detect the toothbrush by its color and track brushing movement. No images or video are stored or transmitted. All image processing happens in real time, entirely on the device.
Camera access is used only during an active brushing session and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.
Zubbi contains no ad networks, no analytics services, and no cross-app tracking. No usage data is shared with third parties. The app is free of any third-party SDKs that could collect data.
We occasionally conduct optional user surveys to improve Zubbi. Participation is always voluntary and announced separately.
Surveys take place outside the app (e.g. via a link). They may ask for personal information such as the child's age or usage habits. This data is used solely for product improvement, never shared with third parties, and deleted after the evaluation is complete.
Profile data and brushing progress are stored exclusively on your device. We do not receive this data and have no access to it. You can contact us at any time regarding information voluntarily provided through external surveys.
